How to Choose the Right Doll Height
Height sounds like a simple preference. In practice it decides how the doll feels to handle, dress and store. This guide turns the choice into a few honest questions.
Question 1: How Much Can You Lift?
A 165cm doll weighs 30-40kg — and unlike a barbell, it does not balance. You will lift it for bathing, dressing and storage. If 35kg sounds heavy, stay at or under 150cm (20-28kg) or consider a torso. This single question eliminates more regret than any other.
Question 2: Where Will It Live?
Measure your storage space before choosing height. A 170cm doll needs a bed-length spot or a tall wardrobe with a hanging kit. Under 150cm fits in most closets and storage boxes.
Question 3: How Real Do You Want the Presence?
Life-size dolls (160cm+) have an unmistakable presence — real clothes fit, photos look natural, and cuddling feels like holding a person. Smaller dolls are cuter and easier, but nobody mistakes 140cm for life-size.
The Height Bands
Under 150cm: lightest and easiest to store; best first dolls and small spaces.
150-159cm: the balanced choice — realistic proportions, manageable weight, huge model selection.
160-169cm: life-size, the most popular band; plan on real lifting.
170cm+: maximum presence, maximum weight. For experienced owners.
A Trick: Weight-Reduced Bodies
Many brands offer weight-reduction technology that removes 5-10kg from the same height. If you want 165cm but not 38kg, ask us which bodies offer the reduced-weight option.
Our Advice
First doll: 150-165cm, under 35kg. You will handle it more, enjoy it more, and keep it cleaner. Height you can't comfortably lift becomes a doll you avoid moving — and that defeats the point.
